Getting Started

Lets get started


Now first things first you need a FSO game to play. This review list will show you some.
Next download their game client and install it. Now before you make a character lets think about what stats you should put on your character.

Your character stats

Now when you got to the create a character button and click it you'll connect to the server and make your character.
When the character create screen loads you'll get a screen that will let you choose your hair color, gender, start stats, and what you wanna be
either a mage, a warrior, or ranger.

Ok now for your start stats lets take a look at what each stat does.

Strength - Strength is very important to the game. The higher the strength the more weapons you will be able to life. Each different weapon has an amount of strength needed to lift it. The same applies with items and cabinets.

Stamina - Stamina may sound important to some of you, but actually it's not all that important. The more stamina you have the faster the bar will fill up. The more filled up the bar is the more damage you will do to your enemy.

Intelligence - This is somewhat important to the game. The higher your intelligence the higher you will learn trades such as mining, fishing, lumberjacking, alchemy, blacksmithing, and the rest. Everytime you master a skill you stats will raise by one point.

Wisdom - The amount of damage delt to your opponent by a spell will depend on you wisdom. Wisdom shouldn't be the highest unless your a magic freak and your gonna depend on Magic throughout the game.

Mysticism - The higher your mysticism the more spells that can be learned. So it's smart to have it at highest.

Now choose your stats and name your character.

What to do when your in the game

Now that you have logged in what do you do? Well most people would think to beg for items.
That is a big no no. On most servers asking for items end in a ban to your character. What I suggest is
Go in the noob forest and train. But how do I attack you may ask.

The Basic Contols

Now in order to play you need to know all the commands here is a list and what they do.


The Arrow keys: The arrow keys move your character.
TAB: The TAB key is the button that will let you attack.
CTRL: The CTRL key lets you pick up a item you are standing next to.
ALT: The ALT key when held down is gonna let you turn with out moving.
': The apostrophe is gonan let you broad cast thats the yellow text you see in your chat box that you can see here

Now that you have the basic controls lets look at how to equip a item so we can fight monsters.

Equiping a item.

Ok my friends this part is easy all you need to do is click on the picture you see here when your in the game
and your item screen opens. Depending on what class you chose you'll see either a sword,for the rangers and warriors, or a staff, for those mage fans, and
just click on it and hit equip. Now that was easy wasn't it?

Training

The First Monster to fight

Now that you have your item equiped lets do some battle. But what to fight when you first arrive in the game world?
Well you could always fight one of these slimes that you see roaming around.
They are a good foe for you beginers and drop a small sword usualy that is better thatn your current wepon.

Advanced Training

OK now that you fought a slime when should you stop killing them? Yes that is the question
and the answer is at level 27 buy a bow and arrow and find some orcs to train on. I dont have a
picture but they are fat and easy to know when to kill it. Kill them and level up your archery.

Making Money

The Jobs

Ok now you gained some levles but you need some money. Well in FSO the best way
to gain money is to start leveling up on some jobs you can do. But what jobs are there to do?
Well my friend there is: But which one to do first?

Which job is best?

Well my friends the best job to do first is to fish. Simply because
it is the easiest to level and the easiest to make money out of.
But what do I need to fish?
You need: Well now once you caught some fish cook them on a stove
then sell them for money to a NPC.

Airships

Now lets talk about the airships. Yes they are great and let you fly around unharmed
by enemies below but the price you pay to do it is really high. And some towns may not
have a landing pad to place it on. Your best bet is to visit each town and see if they have a landing pad
if they do then you should buy a airship in the game or donate for one because thats what most servers will do.
But to let you know only you can drive the airship. So no rides for friends.
